Cookie Policy
This page explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can control them.

Who we are
This Cookie Policy explains how VC Services Group Ltd, trading as Little Village Co ("Little Village", "we", "us", "our"), company number 17402400, registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, uses cookies and similar technologies on our website www.littlevillagevcgroup.com (the "Site").
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner. Similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) work in a comparable way and are covered by this policy.
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them.
- First-party cookies — set directly by our Site.
- Third-party cookies — set by a service we use that isn't operated by us.
Our use of cookies
We use cookies for the purposes below. Not every category is necessarily active at all times — this depends on how you interact with the Site and which features you use.
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function properly — for example, enabling core security features, remembering your cookie consent choices, supporting anti-fraud protections, and allowing you to navigate the Site and submit forms (such as our parent enquiry form and sitter application form). The Site cannot operate properly without these, and they cannot be switched off.
Because our Site is built and hosted on Squarespace, Squarespace sets a number of first-party cookies automatically to keep the Site secure and functional:
| Purpose | Example cookie names |
|---|---|
| Test whether cookies are supported by your browser | _dd_cookie_test, _dd_site_test |
| Track and help resolve browser errors | _dd_s |
| Recognise your device for anti-fraud / security purposes | _ssid |
| Reduce spam on forms (reCAPTCHA) | _grecaptcha |
| Remember your cookie consent preferences | set by our Cookie Preferences banner |
3.2 Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are most visited and how long visitors spend on a page — so we can improve the Site and our services. We use Squarespace's built-in analytics, which sets first-party cookies:
| Purpose | Example cookie names |
|---|---|
| Identify unique visitors and track visits/sessions to help us understand site traffic | ss_cid, ss_cvisit, ss_cvt, ss_cvr, ss_cpvisit |
No third-party analytics tool (such as Google Analytics) is connected to the Site under Third Party Tools → Connected Accounts, so Squarespace's own analytics above is the only analytics in use. If one is added later, this section must be updated and gated behind the consent banner before it goes live.
These cookies are non-essential — they are only set once you give consent via our Cookie Preferences banner.
3.3 Functionality cookies
These cookies let the Site remember choices you make, to provide a more personalised experience.
| Purpose | Example cookie names |
|---|---|
| Prevent a promotional pop-up reappearing once dismissed | squarespace-popup-overlay |
| Remember interactions with blog content | squarespace-likes |
| Support embedded video playback | squarespace-video-player-options |
3.4 Third-party and embedded content
Some pages may include content from, or links to, third-party services which may set their own cookies, over which we have no direct control:
- Payment processing — when you proceed to pay a booking fee, you're directed to a secure page hosted by Monzo Business, which sets its own cookies under Monzo's own cookie and privacy policies.
- Social media — links or embeds to our Facebook and Instagram pages may allow those platforms to set cookies if you interact with the embedded content.
As at 26.08.26, no Meta Pixel or other advertising/remarketing tag is configured on the Site (checked under Marketing → Meta Pixel & Ads). If one is added later, this section must be updated and gated behind the consent banner before it goes live.
Managing your cookie preferences
Cookie banner: when you first visit the Site, you'll be shown a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Non-essential cookies are only set once you've given consent. You can review or change your choices at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" button available on the Site.
Browser settings: most browsers also let you control or delete cookies through their own settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the Site's functionality, including submitting enquiry or application forms. For general guidance, see aboutcookies.org or allaboutcookies.org.
Do Not Track: some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Our Site does not currently respond to these signals.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or regulatory reasons. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
